Cumulants of Net-charge Distribution from Particle–Antiparticle Sources

چکیده
It is shown how high-order cumulants of net-charge distribution in hadronic collisions at LHC energies can be expressed via lower-order terms under the assumption that particle-antiparticle pairs are produced independent local processes. argued and tested with HIJING model this typically valid for net-proton fluctuations case when no critical behaviour present system. Values estimated such a way considered as baselines direct measurements real data.

Blind separation of sources using higher-order cumulants
In this paper, we propose a novel method of blind signal separation using a new performance criterion with nonlinear separating functions, and derive an adaptive algorithm. The criterion consists of nonlinear mappings of output signals and their cumulants for independence of the signals. We show that our method requires a weak condition for stable separation through the ODE analysis. Simulation...
متن کاملFirst Result of Net-Charge Jet-Correlations from STAR
We presented results on azimuthal correlation of net-charge with high pT trigger particles. It is found that the net-charge correlation shape is similar to that of total-charge. On the near-side, the net-charge and total-charge pT spectra have similar shape and both are harder than the inclusives. On the away-side, the correlated spectra are not much harder than the inclusives, and the net-char...
متن کاملNumerical Investigation of the Non-Uniformity of the Electric Field Distribution by Injection of Net Electron Charge in TE CO2 Laser
In this report, the distribution and deviation of electric field in the active medium of the TE CO2 laser has been investigated due to the injection of net electron charge beam as a plasma generator. Some parameters of system have been considered, such as density and mean-free-path of injected charge beam. The electric potential and electric field distribution have been simulated by solving the...
متن کاملSources lndentification : A Solution Based on the Cumulants
In a great number of situations (array processing, seismic sounding...), the signal received on an array of sensors is the sum of several contributions (sources). In general, it is realistic to assume that the sources emit independent stochastic signals. In this case, several methods using the second order statistic of the signal have been developed in order to detect the number of sources and ...
